In the case of crawfish patterns, second place isn’t last. Only the Tickle Monster can claim superiority to the Foam Back Craw in the Blue Line (crawfish) lineup. Don’t let the foam fool you – this sucker sinks. The foam helps position the fly diagonally to mimic the natural appearance of a crawfish and the extended tail adds a wiggle even the fussiest of trout can’t resist. It nymphs well (where the TM doesn't), can be used under an indicator, and is fishable with a bare-floating line or sink tip.

A stiff five can handle the Foam Back Craw, however, a six weight or bigger will manage better.
